AG - Back II Life [mixtape] - Album Inset
CONCEPT: AG is building "rap robots" of himself, symbolic of
striving to perfect ones craft. (AG appears as both the "mad
scientist/engineer" and the mid-constructed robot.) This robot in
particular is being fitted with speakers to blast his music.
TECH: Multiple pictures of instruments, construction equipment, etc.
were used as well as planning AG's poses to match up with each
other, here appearing to "crank" his own back.
AG - Back II Life [mixtape] - Album Tray
CONCEPT: The rap robot is undergoing head
programming to have a brain filled with music,
removing the mediums of the past such as CD's and
tapes replaced by "going digital".
This reflects both the current state of the industry
as well as a tribute to the mediums we all grew up with,
from records to digital. (As a side note, his
right eye is aligned with the CD hole within the jewel
case, peeking through the CD when the case is
opened.)
AG - Back II Life [mixtape] - Album Cover
CONCEPT: The rap robot is constructed and AG is
activating his rap robot self. The wire reaches around to
the back (of the jewel case) and "plugs into his track list".
TECH: An assortment of musical instruments were used
to essentially build a rap robot, like a suit over his body
and keyboards for wings, microphones for a breathing
device etc. The monitors on the side match up to the rest
of the panels in the Back II Life packaging. The
corresponding panels have security cameras in the rooms
of the "lab" to reflect these views.
AG - Back II Life - Album Booklet
CONCEPT: This is the early stage in the
lab of the rap robots production/assembly.
AG - Back II Life [mixtape] - CD Image
CONCEPT: AG is constructing a "DJ Robot" of himself to play his music.
This robot in particular has a CD player in his stomach and reader for
an eye. The CD tray in the robots stomach contains AG's own
Back II Life album. (Contact info is placed on the disc so that in can be
given as a standalone piece seperate from the album jewel case.)
AG - Back II Life [mixtape] - Back/Tracklist
CONCEPT: This "scrapheap" version of his rap
robotic self has been regulated to supply memory
i.e. his tracks. The memory feed turns into the
tracklist for the album (hence the "0 & 1's"
surrounding the track names). The tracklist feed
then wraps around to the front via the wire that AG
is plugging into his rap robot self on the album
cover, supplying his rap robot self with his music
tracks.
Concept: take Wolverine, Batman,
Blade, Green Lantern, Iron Man &
Superman and mash them together in
the name of hip-hop. Package is
designed to look like a comic book.
Concept: getting Beastie Boys with it,
having fun. The beatsmith is the
"sorcerer" the rapper is the "poetry
potion".
SaberWolf - Battle Born Collabos - Album Set
CONCEPT: Mecha-Western with microphones for pistols and
gramophones for cannons. Bullets loaded with tracks made from
wanted poster paper.
TECH: Photographs of authentic classic vehicles and aged
mechanical equipment cut, scaled and lit to costume the subject and
make a series of western backdrops.
